2016-12-01 Please note that our constitution (as shown below) is undergoing a series of administrative changes…each of which is approved by our membership. Rather than update the document and re-post to this website with every change, we will list a summary of the changes made to-date. Change 1 – September 2016: Removed all references to Hamfest including removal of Hamfest Chair as an elected office. Effect: Hamfest becomes like all other events the club sponsors or conducts.
Proposed Change 2 – Announced to Membership on 1 December 2016 in regular monthly club meeting. Proposed change to permit electronic notification of proposed Constitutional changes to save costs and improve timeliness of service.
The Chattanooga Amateur Radio Club (CARC) was organized as a non-profit corporation exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. It provides Chattanooga and the surrounding areas a fully operational and coordinated voluntary noncommercial communications service, operated in compliance with FCC regulations applicable to the amateur radio service.
CARC seeks to advance the state of the art of amateur radio communications through education and training, experimentation and research by members, and the free interchange of technical information among amateur radio operators and between members and the general public. CARC shall not engage in any activities or exercise any powers that are not in furtherance of these purposes.
